Movement Coaching for Patients with Depressive Disorder in Outpatient Psychiatric Treatment
Summary description of the study
You are suffering from depression, and we are reaching out to ask if you would like to participate in this study. In this study, we investigate how individual movement coaching affects your physical activity behavior, the severity of your depression, and your quality of life. Participation in this study will last a total of 36 weeks, or 8 months. We will invite you for 3 examinations at the facilities of Sonnenhalde AG. Each appointment lasts about 2 hours. If you decide to participate in the study, you will be randomly assigned to one of three groups. You will either belong to one of two experimental groups or to the control group. You will learn which group you belong to after the first measurement. In the first experimental group, you will receive 10 weeks of individual movement coaching and will wear a Smart Ring, which you will continue to wear until the end of the study (8 months). In the second experimental group, you will also receive 10 weeks of individual movement coaching and a Smart Ring, which you will wear for the entire 8 months. Additionally, after the first 10 weeks, you will be supported for another 26 weeks through telephone movement coaching. In the control group, you will receive written exercise recommendations.
